Thank you for your desire to help your community during this global crisis. By supporting our neighbors, we can ensure the health and well being of all Wayland residents.
There are a few ways that volunteers through Neighbors4Seniors Wayland are currently helping the community:
Phone Check-ins with Seniors:
Currently, we are facilitating efforts to check-in on the Seniors in Wayland to make sure they are doing ok. We are enlisting the help of “Check-in Captains” who can call Seniors in their neighborhoods to check-in on how they are doing. If you would like to be a part of this effort, please go to the Resident Task Force page and scroll to find the most current version of the Check-in Captains by Street Article. If you do not have/need to find a neighbor’s phone number, please see this page for instructions.
Deliver Supplies/Groceries to At-Risk individuals:
Neighbors4Seniors supply delivery program enlists individuals from demographics at least risk of developing severe complications from COVID-19 to help bring groceries, medications, and supplies to those in our community who are in high-risk groups. This program is primarily focused on the elderly, disabled, immunocompromised, and those with pre-existing conditions. However, we are available to help anyone who needs it. This contactless delivery program aims at decreasing the risk of infection for at-risk individuals in our community while still enabling them to obtain necessary items such as groceries and supplies. Neighbors4Seniors matches volunteers with individuals who request deliveries. Please click HERE to sign up to be a delivery volunteer. More information on the program is on our “How does it work?” page. Information for Volunteers is available on our Volunteer Guidelines page.
